She is the champion

It's 4:30pm the day after surgery. DKO has been dozing on and off. She's feeling sore all over; I'm convinced that once they anesthetized her, they drove trucks over her instead of doing surgery. Her throat's pretty sore from the intubation issues and she's been doing tea + honey all day.

DKO periodically frets that she is some sort of wimp because she's not out hiking mountains and building bridges the day after surgery, but she sure seems tough to me.

Beautiful flowers from the folks at work; you guys are great.

Gramma's making chicken corn chowder and the scotch is disappearing even as I type.

A bijillion hugs to you, Mike!

(the hence references earlier resonated with me, triggering 'biijillion' flashbacks...)

Diane is indeed the champion! A wimp? No way! Oh - and let us know if you need a refill on the Scotch :-)

a) hooray! yippee!! re the good surgical outcome
b) sad you're so sore from it all -- but it doesn't surprise me, really -- that's *two* surgeries in one day, with anaesthesia, which can already make you feel totally beat up by itself, plus the throat thingy, plus the IV, plus the actual surgical strikes -- it'd be very strange if you were NOT sore
c) you should (because it was two procedures) give yourself at least *twice* as long to rest and recuperate as you would for just one, imho! none of this 'wimp' stuff! you are a rock star!
d) hooray hooray again that it went well!

Dohalalalala--hope you are feeling a bit less sore today. The intubation was a sucky problem to happen on top of everything else but make sure you eat lots of icecream and gargle with lots of iced lattes. Lots of love to both of you

The mountains aren't going anywhere. If you wait an hour in the desert, you don't need a bridge after all. Does scotch go with tea & honey?

Nice to actually speak with Mike even for a minute. You sounded sleepy Bro. Hope you and DKO are finally sleeping??? You are in our thoughts, and sometimes we call them prayers, daily. We hope the next five days whiz by and we can hear more good news!
