I just wanted to post so folks wouldn't think we've forgotten to post.
Hm.
DKO is in radiation which seems to be going o.k. She's got the expected fatigue and soreness/burn and is pretty uncomfortable.
I think the gist of where we are now is we want to be done!
The plan is for DKO to take a leave of absence from work for the fall to finish up treatment and recharge her batteries.

Joe is here, with Grandma, using up her reserve batteries! (we get to have him up here Saturday.)
I hope Diane's feeling a wee bit better?
Thinking about making some plans with the sister that checks your blog daily?
You're not just kidding about being ready to be done. This has been SUCH a long haul! And with the radiation delays and such, it must seem like it's never gonna be finished.
Battery recharging is clearly in order; perhaps fueled by chocolate, ernie hugs and lots of fun things that you couldn't do during summer because of all this craziness!
Diane...i bet you want this to be done, and it'll be done very soon! I'm picturing a relaxing Florida-desolate-beach get-away in your very near future!
This has been an insanely long haul, but you two are doing great in hanging in there! Diane, you are doing a terrific job with this, and I know it is so tough, but we are all thinking of you with much love and admiration of your strength and courage!!
Bummahs about being tired & burnt (in more ways than 1)...but it'll be over soon! (right? god, I hope so!!)
I wish I could be there right now to drive you to your treatments!! Cuz then we could be our silly old selves, giggling about most everything under the sun and more, & thereby taking your mind off of the physical stuffs!!
At least you won't be bogged down w/ work when we (& others) visit this fall!! (yes, I'm being selfish here cuz I can't WAIT to hang out w/ my old partner in crime!!) (oh wait... did we commit any crimes?? I can't remember...)
Thanks, everyone! I can't really put into words how much your comments and support mean to me.
And, Patep, I think we contemplated lots of crime but never actually did any - along the lines of Diane M's song...remember it?
I wish I had a radiation buddy, too. It's getting so tiresome!
re: song...do you mean:
massachusetts driver....hang on where's the fire?
massachusetts driver...(don't remember lyric here)
not as evocative, perhaps as my one ton tomato version...but definitely the sign of grad school era (vehicleless me and pat periodically getting to borrow dko and dm and dk's cars, or getting generous rides places)
Hahaha! I do remember you two teasing me mercilessly about my driving but you know I am a staid Tucson driver now!
I was thinking of the song about the faculty! Do you remember that one?
