I'd been thinking it was time for a post, but DKO beat me to it.
Mostly, I'm just worrying. I suppose I've written that maybe a couple times before, but it's back again.
Part of it is that DKO is worrying, quite rightly of course, as in her last post. Part of it is that I'm now back to work with tons to do. JRH is back in college halfway across the country and I worry about him too.
And, of course, I'm a worrywort generally.
And what else? There's a daily comic DKO and I both read: "Funky". It's quite good, but it often deals with really really serious topics. One character is off in Iraq and another character, Lisa, has breast cancer. In the comic, Lisa's health has apparently deteriorated to the point where she's been given only months to live and has decided to stop doing chemo so as to spend her remaining time better.
It's a really good comic generally. Also, it's really really good that the author takes on timely and difficult issues that spread awareness. But DKO and I are both addicted to it and it's a really hard story to read these days.

I don't know...that comic doesn't sound very comic....Yeah, MH, you are a worrywort, but you really do have a lot on your plate to justify it. Still, I'm wondering if a trip to the rock-climbing gym with John Ivens might help. Burning off some of that bad energy might be a really good strategy, build some muscles, have some good bonding time with a friend. Could be a winner!
Love you guys!
Mike,
Send me the strip or copy it to your blog - IF it makes you smile. If not, trash it, burn it, whatever and read/do anything that does make you smile!
Please!
There are wine columns I'm sure...

I agree with cmf. Worry is justified, but still no fun. I know that rock climbing will cause you to worry about other things, though, so I nominate Ernie patting, swimming, guitar playing and learning to tango.
xoxoxo
oooh, tango!
yeah, i was kinda pushing the rock-climbing angle for john and dko's wishes, plus health benefits to mh.
I second (or is it third?) the rock-climbing idea. It's a very good thing to get out of your head & focus on holding on for dear life (while being safely strapped onto something, of course). It's that whole meditative zen state that happens. Very good for relieving stress.
Or, play the guitar. That works for me & doesn't involve heights. ;-)
May both of your minds be free & full of appreciation for life!

Yeah, scary stuff. Again, thanks for telling us so honestly about how you're both doing. I hope you're both finding ways to do something that makes you happy for a while.
let it all go - and enjoy each day
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANE
