I had a birthday last week. I mention this because my plan had been to get a big rain check for any festivities, etc., thinking that I didn't want DKO stressing out any of it.
DKO, however, had been quite insistent about doing something, and I ended up relenting, thinking that she wasn't going to let go of this issue and that maybe it was something she really wanted to do. I've been second guessing myself about this steadily.
Nonetheless, I had a wonderful day, great gifts, and a really pleasant time at home with her. In the heat of all this cancer stress, the best gift of all, of course, was just to have her with me.
